Yo, WIP, Let’s kick it!

 

All right stop, turn off your Kindles and listen

Time to focus on November’s ambition

NaNoMo, yea we don’t it take lightly

To hit 50k, we write daily and nightly

Will it have a plot? Yo—I hope so.

Will my MCs carry the show?

To rock the next scene I need action or scandal

Tweet my fav’rite  lines from my Twitter handle

 

Doubt, in our minds it looms

Good thing, we’ve been outlining since June

Blocked! A writer’s worst enemy

If you need a break, clear your mind, it’s a remedy

Drink tea, coffee, Scotch on the rocks

Or eat Ben & Jerry’s, ’til an idea pops

Back in the zone, no worries, we’re on it,

Gotta hit our daily goal, even if it’s word vomit

Up in the morning, roll out of bed

Characters from scenes are talkin’ in my head

5 am, try to get a few lines down

Before kids wake and I haul ’em into town

For school, the best part of the day

It’s easier to write when things aren’t crazy

I throw on a shirt I’ve worn for 5 days

Don’t bother with a shower, or a bra, it delays

 

Alone, and the words start flowing

Don’t stop to pee, I just keep on going

Dinner, pizza guy knows us by name

We order our usual, it’s always the same

Last time I cooked? I can’t even remember

My hubs and kids can’t wait for December

Day in, day out ’til I reach “The end”

Gonna keep on pushing for a NaNoMo win
