Songs Written in the Midst of Teen Angst (Part 1)

Once upon a time, I thought I’d make a pretty good songwriter. Of course, you must understand that this was also about the time I thought Orlando Bloom in a blonde wig was the hottest thing ever and obscure 90’s Ska was the height of cool music.

Eh, you live you learn I always say!

“Teen Angst” (aka I hate you Boyfriend/Mom/Everybody) …to be played loud and screamed through a door after slamming it. In the key of F.

June, 2004

I hate you, please don’t leave me
I lie, you don’t deceive me
It hurts to see you believe that I don’t care
I’m proud, and I can’t take you anywhere

Even though I hate you, please don’t walk away
When I say I’ll leave you, promise me you’ll stay
I can’t live without you, just leave me alone
Every time I run from you, I run away from home
I love you, and I can’t stand you…
I need you and I can’t handle you being here for me

Please go away…
But please stay.

I go so far to escape you
But I bring you with me, too
There’s nowhere I can hide because
I’d tell you where my hiding place was

Even though I hate you, please don’t walk away,
When I try to deceive you, don’t believe the things I say
I can’t live without you, so just leave me alone
Because when I run from you, I run away from home
I’ll miss you; I can’t wait until you’re gone…
I hate when I resemble you but I won’t act differently

So please go away…
But please, please, stay.
